With just little over 13 months since Mike last road a road racing bike; he was back and without doubt one of the top performances within the Wirral 100 at Oulton Park.
Back in racing mode for the first time since TT 2022, Mike rode his recently acquired ZX-6R Kawasaki, was quickly back into the swing of things. The bike was expertly prepped by a newly founded self run race team. After a few thieving issues in morning practice Mike quickly took back to being on tarmac.
The sole Anglesey Vans Open Challenge/Pre-National Open combined race saw Mike, embroiled in a tight contest for P1. at the end of the race Mike took the win, finishing 0.319 ahead of Adam Smith.
It is without a doubt that Mike has not lost his touch on tarmac and this weekend showed that off brilliantly.
